High Performance Quenching: Maximum Performance in the Minimum Space

ABSTRACT --- Press quench requirements have become more stringent in recent years. Three
primary factors are pushing these requirements: faster extrusion speeds, leadout area space
limitations, and improved extrudate properties available from faster quench rates. These three
factors have created the need to achieve maximum performance in the minimum footprint. This
paper examines methods for optimizing the quenching process and details a design utilizing these
